Bike Helmet Recommendations

Bro payo lang. tipirin mo na lahat sa bike mo wag lang sa safety gears. Ung pyesa napapalitan ung ulo hindi!
Mips is better kung may budget ka pero please lang wag ka bibili ng alam mong hindi matibay. Sumunod ka pa din kahit matigas na ulo mo

Kung subdivision lang, ok lang mga shopee, pero kung sa highway or trails, ibang usapan na. Invest sa mga known brand and syempre sa kind of bike mo, mahirap kasi mag full face helmet ka tapos road bike gamit or XC ka.

Helmets Tested​

Our cheap helmets came from Target and Wal-Mart. They cost $9.96, $9.99 and $19.96 and were typical of helmets you would find in any big box discount store. Our expensive helmets came from a bike store, an Ebay seller and an Internet retailer. Two were made in China for US brands. One was Italian. The MSRP for them was $149.99, $174.99 and $206.99. We found the first two discounted, but ρáíd full price for the most expensive one. We submitted three of each model for testing.

Test Results​

The surprise for us was that all six helmets performed virtually identically in all the tests. There were a few outlying readings below and above the norm in particular spots, but the averages for the two types of helmet were almost identical. If you want the helmet that will provide you with the best protection then it would be nutshell shell. Other name for this is nutcase helmet.
Factors why I'd say nutshell gives the best protection:
1. Circular design. Circular design helmets takes away a portion of impact force from you by rolling. Unlike in aero helmets, sasalohin nito ang buong impact.
2. Thicker EPS(Expanded PolyStyrene) other name for this is Styrofoam. Mas makapal ang EPS ng nutshell helmets compare to other helmets specially compared to road bike helmets.
3. Less holes/vents. Alam na siguro natin na ang main impact absorber is the EPS or the styrofoam. So pag binawasan ang EPS for more vents then there will be less protection. This is common sense.

Main cons nitong nutshell ay mainit dahil nga mas konti ang vents that's why not recommended for long rides. Prone ang cyclist to overheating. I can only suggest using this for short rides or night rides.

My conclusion is always check before buying. First and foremost dapat may EPS ang helmet dahil ito ang mababasag instead na ang bungo mo. Second is circular design. Third is dapat fitted sa ulo mo pero most helmets provide na ng dial para ma-adjust ang fit sa ulo mo.
