Bryant’s recovery from his latest devastating late-career injury, a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder, is complete—and he currently has no physical limitations as he gears up for what he expects will be his final NBA season.

Bryant has been medically cleared for all basketball activities, according to league sources.

Heading into his 20th season, there will naturally be questions regarding retirement. However, the five-time champion has stated numerous times he will not make a decision until after the season and is focused on ending his career on his terms.

With the Lakers drafting D’Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson the past two years, Bryant is expected to move to small forward to allow the young prospects to play major minutes. After playing major minutes and having the highest usage rate last season, head coach Byron Scott is expected to implement a minutes restriction and sit him out in back-to-back situations.

In 35 games, Bryant averaged 22.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.6 assists.
