Tutorial Supported attachment file extensions and maximum attachment file size (2024 update)

Hello PHCitizens,

In light of the incident on January 8 and the subsequent 10 hours of downtime, we find it necessary to make adjustments to our platform. Emergency and Unexpected Downtime


Please be advised that the supported attachment file extensions and maximum attachment file size must be modified.

Allowed attachment file extensions


It is important to note that all video and GIF attachments or uploads across the entire forum, including the media gallery, have been disabled. This exclusion does not apply to profile avatars and banners.
Additionally, supported attachment file extensions are now limited to 10 MB.


We would like to assure you that video embeds from external sites remain fully supported, encompassing 130 different media sites. For a comprehensive list, please visit the link below.

As a consequence of these adjustments, all previously uploaded video files will now display a 404 error or video not found page. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this period.
