Sharing is caring... if this work for you great! if isn't it's okay either way.

With the online gaming world making its way into the mainstream, millions of gamers from across the world are logging in on a daily basis to play their favorite games. However, with this rapid growth, it seems not everyone is getting the same, smooth playing experience.

This is mainly due to instances of lag and network delays. So, to counter such pesky issues, we are here with a once-and-for-all fix which involves port forwarding for gaming. Hopefully, going through this guide will help you play your favorite games like they are meant to, allowing you to play to the best of your skills and abilities. So, without further ado, let’s begin.

What Does Port Forwarding Do For Gaming?

The reason for this is linked to how port forwarding works. For those of you who are unaware of what all of this is, let us help you out. Port forwarding is when you command your network router to follow a specific route or path. This means that your connection will not have to look around, it will follow the same route every single time. Hence, significantly reducing the time it takes for the connection to reach its final destination.

To make you better understand this, let us give you a real life explanation. Imagine you are going on a trip to, let’s say, Las Vegas. Now, if you have to constantly stop to open up the map and check where you have to go, the time in will take for you to reach your destination will increase exponentially as compared to if you knew exactly where to go.

This is how port forwarding for gaming works. Instead of your connection looking for the route to the gaming server, you predefine it path so that it knows exactly where to go. As a result, when it comes to improving performance, port forwarding games is the way to go.

How to Port Forward on your Router for PC Games

Now that you have an idea of what port forwarding is and what effect it can having on your online gaming, let us now talk about how you can set it up. Since it is linked directly to your internet connection, the way to set it up is through your router.

Now, this might seem like a complex task for some as messing around in your routers settings can be quite confusing. However, if you follow our step by step guide mentioned below, we are sure you’ll be done in no time.

○ Open a web browser and navigate to your router’s IP address
○ Find your routers port forwarding section
○ Put the IP address of your computer or gaming console in the correct box in your router
○ Put the TCP and UDP ports for your game in the corresponding boxes in your router
○ On occasion, you have to reboot your router for the changes to take effect

Now we’re ready to forward the ports. The steps to do that are these:

The process for forwarding a port is generally:

○ Open up a web browser on your console or PC, and put your router’s IP address in the address bar.
○ Hit enter, and you should see your router’s settings menu
○ In this menu, somewhere there will be options for port forwarding
○ Once you find them, you’ll need to enter some details
○ Paste your router’s IP address into the right box
○ And then copy your PC or console’s IP address into the other box
○ Next, put in the ports for Call of Duty, Valorant or any online games you play with. You can copy those from the list above
○ To finish, restart your router, and your ports will be forwarded.

This method might also fix the access connecting you from valorant servers or any online game servers you play with, so now with further a do let's get started.
at first we need to get your default gateway and ip address. Here's how...

On your keyboard Press the Windows key. "The Windows key is located between ctrl and alt to the left of the space bar." type CMD and press enter to open Command Prompt window.

Now type ipconfig /all into the Command Prompt and press enter. You should now see all the list information in the Command Prompt; scroll and look for this information.

Now copy this information to your notepad for the following next step.

Now that you have your default gateway and IPv4 address, we're going too...

ACCESS YOUR ROUTER'S CONFIGURATION PAGE

○ Open a web browser (Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, etc.).
○ Type your default gateway in the URL address bar.
○ If ask for a password and username, first try clicking OK. If that doesn't work, try:
Username : admin
Password : password
Still stuck? You can use your router's brand and model to find it's default password.
You may also try to look at your router's back top or bottom if there's a sticker around, also check the modem box if you kept it just in case.
That looks like this.

○ Since each router's configuration page is different, you may have to do some digging for the next step. Find a page with one of these names: Port Forwarding, Virtual Servers, NAT, or Application.
It may be under Advanced Settings or Advanced Setup.
NOTE : Port triggering is not the same as Port Forwarding.
The correct page will look like something like this.

○ In the example above, you will have to click New for adding . Depending on your router, this step may not be necessary. Once you click New, you'll be taken here:

○ For this next step, you'll need all the info in the table below.

Table no. 1
Service Name
Protocol/Service Type
Port Range
VALORANT Game Client
UDP
7000 - 8000
8180 - 8181
Riot Vanguard
TCP

Installer and Master

Table no. 2
TCP
2099, 5222-5223, 8088, 8393-8400
UDP

○ Now enter the service names, protocols/service types, and port ranges from the above table into the corresponding fields shown (see screenshot below). You'll have to do this for each of the services listed. Remember when you copied down your IPv4 address? You'll use that for the Internal IP address field.

○ If you have any issues going through the port forwarding process or need any additional help, simply comment below and I'll try assist you.
○ Additional configuration... Enabling UPnP and adding DHCP Static IP
For enabling UPnP simply go to Application Panel look for UPnP and just click the check box to enable it.

For DHCP Static IP configuration we need to enter our device MAC Address and the IP address; to add click New and enter your MAC Address and the IP Address of your device. Then hit Apply. There you go you're all set!

THanks for the share TS, na-try mo na 'to? ano yung before-and-after ping mo dito? :)
Yes, from 50-100 ping to 20 to 30 ping na po ako ngayon. Preferred wifi network 5G to achieve such ping.
yan ung lang ang nasa port mapping settings ko sir
