NATIONAL GIRLFRIENDS DAY
National Girlfriends Day is annually recognized on August 1, as girlfriends get together around the United States and celebrate their special bond of friendship.

Girlfriends can be your daughters, mothers, sisters, cousins, lifelong friends, high school friends, college room-mates and work friends. They are the ones who are there for you. These friends are the ones with whom you want to spent time, share your secrets, go shopping, get a pedicure and drink a glass of wine. They want to be there for you and you want to be there for them. They are your girlfriends!
National Girlfriends Day is an annual holiday commemorated every year on August 1st. While its origins are “unknown,” we need no convincing to embrace a day that celebrates the friendships between women. It’s a day that reminds us to cherish all the women we know – girlfriends, mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, etc. – who make our lives better.

Rather than be cliché and tell you to “head to the spa”, “gossip over coffee” or “go shopping” as some sites suggest women do to celebrate NGD, we’re offering an idea that is much simpler and far more meaningful… just take a moment to tell your girlfriends how much they mean to you today.

Friendship is one of the most special connections in life.

FRIEND: “A person whom one knows and with whom one has a bond of mutual affection”

CELEBRATE

Today, let your gal pals know just how much they mean to you and how special they are in your life. Go out for lunch or a drink with a friend. Post on social media using #NationalGirlfriendsDay.
