So does it really make us anonymous?
Technically it does, and it really does keep you safe but only if the VPN provider is trusted. If it's not, then you're compromised. So always find a VPN that is No-Logging and has been audited ALSO from a country that has a strict law to privacy.
How does It make us anonymous?
Because it hides your IP. The only thing that can be used to track you online is your IP and the information you give online and every time you browse you expose your IP to the websites you visit. So If your IP is hidden and the information you have exposed cannot be possibly narrow down to you then you're anonymous. Are you? Not if your VPN is somehow forced by the country police to hand over their data due to some cybercrime cases and that often happens too.
Oh is it really possible to become 100% anonymous in the internet? With enough knowledge and discipline yes and I can say... Only 99% not 100%
NEVER TRUST ALL FREE VPNs IN PLAYSTORE (All of them are selling your data and worse possibly owned by Russians they are cases like this). Do not 100% trust VPNs that are new and haven't been audited.
