ERROR: Failed to enable SOCKS/HTTP proxy forwarding on 127.0.0.1:1080: Address is already in use ---possible FIX
Nilagay ko lang ito just in case merong magkaproblema sa inyo using the latest shadowsocks in Windows or other cases - part Internet Tricks and Fixes.
Di kasi nakukuha lamang yan sa OS restart or other net fixes (TCP/IP reset, winsock reset etc.) - parang virus he he. Though pwede namang di na pansinin at ibahin na lang yung port, but the problem is still there!
Best method to be safe is just stop all connecting applications/tunneling services and do the following:
A. Refresh using your favorite PC cleanup tool like Wise Care 365 or CCleaner including the registry.

B. Refresh using Complete Internet Repair:

Possible Fixes:
Since the port is already occupied, you need to find out which program is occupying the 1080 port.
Open
cmd.exe and input the command:
netstat -aon|findstr "1080". Check the last string which is the PID (Process ID/identifier using that port. Lets's say its your
PID# (like 844)
( Note:
netstat -ano will list all the network connections on the machine. The last column shows the process ID of the process for the specific network connection. Above script is specifically for port 1080.)
To determine which program this PID corresponds to, type this:
tasklist|findstr "PID#" (Ex. if it's 844, then you'll type
tasklist|findstr "844"). You'll find it on the right hand corner in your cmd display. Now open your Task Manager, look for the process name with that PID and end the process.
A quicker option is using
currports by Nirsoft. Start currports then locate the application using the 1080 port, right-click, then click "
Close Selected TCP Connections". Type again
netstat -ano | find ":1080" to see if 1080 is being used. You should see no results.
Now start Shadowsocks connection using socks 1080 port (with no errors), type
netstat -ano | find ":1080" . Get the
PID# then type
tasklist|findstr "PID#". It should show shadowsocks.exe at the left hand corner!
I hope this helped.
