Spider-Man is another production from Insomniac Games, a studio known for a wide variety of titles - from the Ratchet & Clank series of action platformers, to the crazy Sunset Overdrive, to the Resistance series of shooters. This time the talented developers decided to tackle the legendary superhero Spider-Man. The production with just such a title represents the genre of TPP action adventure games.

Storyline​

The story told in the Spider-Man game is not a direct adaptation of comic book adventures or those known from the movies. Insomniac Games studio took care of a completely new plot, but classic elements (Peter Parker's double life) and well-known characters are present.

Mechanics​

Spider-Man is a third-person action game, which is most easily compared to the Batman: Arkham series, especially in terms of smooth and impressive combat. Clashes are one of the main attractions of the production. The protagonist uses his fists, legs, web and environmental elements. So he can, for example, grab a nearby sandbag with a web and hurl it at an opponent, or throw an enemy into the air and stick him to a nearby wall. It's also possible to shoot and set traps, which come in handy, for example, during s†éálth sequences, during which instead of getting into a direct conflict, we quietly move along walls, eliminating more bad guys along the way.
The action of Spider-Man takes place in New York, so there is no shortage of exploration in the game. Spider-Man can easily walk and even run on vertical walls, use his web to swing and move faster over greater distances, and so on.
The title is very spectacular, not only because of Spider-Man's acrobatic abilities, but also through QTE sequences. During such directed scenes, we watch the craziest actions, which are influenced by pressing the appropriate buttons at selected moments.

Technical issues​

Spider-Man squeezes a lot of power out of the console, thanks to which we watch a brilliantly animated Man-Pider and his opponents on the TV screen, and New York itself is also quite impressive. In addition, the game takes advantage of the capabilities offered by the PlayStation 4 Pro (higher resolution, nicer textures, etc.)
