Oo. Honestly, ganyan na ganyan din yung feeling ko nung unang pagbasa ko ng Fifty Shades of Grey. Bago siya sa mga nakasanayan kong stories na nakasulat sa past tense. But, I started realizing that there are some things na meron ang present tense na wala ang past tense. For an instance, sa past tense kasi pag nagkikwento ang bida, parang nagki kwento siya sa mga listeners tungkol sa mga nakaraan niya, which will make the readers think that whatever struggles na nangyari sa kanya is na survive niya lahat yun, at mag-e-expect ang mga readers na hindi siya mamamatay. Whereas sa present tense, hindi natin malalaman kung mamatay ang bida o hindi, magki-create siya ng worries. There are some other factors that I like about the present tense. Many authors are shifting to this format. I'll name some of the novels which are written in present tense that were now adapted into movies like sa aforementioned novel, Fifty Shades of Grey Series, Hunger Games Series, Divergent Series, To All the Boys I Loved Before Series, Midnight Sun, The Fault in Our Stars, Me Before You, Everyday, Ready Player One, Love Simon (which originally sa libro ang title is Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda), Twilight Series, etc. The list goes on. Eventually, you'll get used to it. Siguro magsusulat ako ng article kung bakit pinili kong gamitin ang present tense sa Partition instead sa past tense. Hehe. Meron din akong ginawa na novel na nakasulat sa past tense. Binabagay ko lang talaga yung usage ng tenses sa story kung relevant ba siya o hindi. Title nga pala nung novel na yun is Crown Sport.
