This is not necessarily news. Pero if di ka pa informed at gumagamit ka ng computer na powered ng AMD Ryzen 5000/7000, it's time to learn how to undervolt.
Background story: Kabubuo ko lang ng bagong desktop na powered ng Ryzen 5 5600 at na-surprise akong makita na nasa 80 degrees Celsius agad yung temperature niya kahit idle. Normally, yung ganitong temperature ay considered lang na normal lang under heavy load. Then, nagresearch ako tungkol sa topic at napag-alaman kong mainitin pala talaga itong Ryzen 5000/7000 at usually naaayos pag nag-undervolt.
Reason to undervolt: Malakas kumain ng kuryente ang AMD Ryzen 5000/7000 kaya mataas yung temperature ng CPU out of the box, especially kung stock cooler ang gagamitin.
Advantage ng undervolting: Maliban sa ma-manage mo na sa satisfactory level yung temperature ng CPU, bababa pa significantly yung voltage ng CPU kaya less energy consumption, but only by a small margin. Another advantage is hindi maaapektohan yung performance ng PC pag na-set sa tamang undervolting.
