After a number of users reported issues with their Xiaomi/Poco/Redmi phones after a system update, the company put out an official statement on X, admitting there is indeed a problem with the latest plugin update.
Once installed, the phone may enter into a bootloop cycle and there's no way out unless you perform a factory reset. From what we could gather, the issue affects only MIUI-running smartphones, which is why this happens.

As per Lavanguardia, the bootloop issue is caused by a MIUI system app. Reportedly, Xiaomi was supposed to bump up the version of the app for HyperOS-running users, but the update ended up on MIUI-powered phones as well, which in turn caused an incompatibility issue, resulting in a boot looping state.

Xiaomi says it has contained the issue, but only a small number of users are affected, and unfortunately, only a factory reset, performed by one of Xiaomi's service centers, can fix the issue. The factory reset, of course, will wipe out all your data.

This is indeed a concerning issue that many Xiaomi/Poco/Redmi phone users are facing after the recent system update. The fact that Xiaomi has officially acknowledged the problem is a step in the right direction. It's important that they are transparent about the issue and are working to contain it.

The bootloop problem caused by a MIUI system app is a serious issue that can render the phone unusable until a factory reset is performed. It's unfortunate that the only solution at the moment is to wipe out all data by performing a factory reset at Xiaomi's service centers.

It's good to know that Xiaomi has stated that only a small number of users are affected by this issue. However, for those who are impacted, it can be a major inconvenience and loss of data. It's crucial for Xiaomi to ensure that such issues are thoroughly tested before releasing updates to prevent similar problems in the future.

Users should stay updated with Xiaomi's official announcements regarding this issue and follow any instructions provided by the company to address the bootloop problem. In the meantime, it's advisable to back up important data regularly to avoid potential data loss in case of unexpected issues like this.
